October 27, 20263 min read

Advent International said it raised $30 billion across its fund family, including close to $27 billion for GPE XI, above a $26 billion target, and over $3 billion for a new mid-market strategy.

The firm said GPE XI is the largest buyout fund to finish raising so far in 2026, and Private Equity International ranks it third among private equity funds by PEI Group data. Commitments came from pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, family offices and other investors.

Advent paired the close with about $13 billion of 2026 realisations, and the firm itself called this one of the most demanding fundraising environments.

Allocators are committing to managers that have returned cash. A manager in market should put its realised record at the front of the case.
